Reservoir Music Center was a full service music store that offered sales, service, repairs, and accessories for new and vintage instruments. We also offered lessons, band and PA rentals, sheet music, instructional DVD's, and CD's and vinyl records. Reservoir Music Center opened it's doors in the Spring of 2005. We served the musical needs of our clientele, the Hudson Valley music community, and beyond, for 9 years, and made a lot of good friends in that time. We closed the retail store on December 30, 2013, and now work by appointment and online.
Owner, Fred Perry, is from a 3rd generation musical family, and was formerly a touring musician and founding member of the alt-country musical group, The Brooklyn Cowboys (www.brooklyncowboys.com). The band included members of The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Amazing Rhythm Aces, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, John Fogerty Band, BR-549, and Walter Egan, best known for his work with members of Fleetwood Mac, Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, Spirit, Jackson Browne, Eminem, and his smash hits, "Magnet and Steel" and "Hot Summer Nights". The Brooklyn Cowboys released 3 CD's on Perry's Leaps Recordings, with great success. Perry's mother and father were skilled musicians and leaders in the field of music education for over a half century. His brother, Richard, is one of the most successful record producers of all time, having garnered over 60 gold and platinum records, and has been named Producer of the Year, twice, by Billboard, and by Rolling Stone. Richard received the Trustee's Award from the Recording Academy in 2015! He is currently working on his memoirs. His brother, Andrew, has gone into the family business. Perry's 2 sons are record producers who live in California and also have a string of hit record credits, including six number ones and a GRAMMY nomination in 2016. Reservoir Music prides itself on having the kind of inventory that you won't find in big box stores and on customer service that enhances our reputation and has given us thousands of friends in the community. Thanks for your support.
